The sign

Ahhh...the much awaited flower has finally bloom, and still blooming while I am writing this. It is also a sign that we are in the mid spring. For uni student, it is an indication that the exam week is around the corner and a long break ahead is coming. As for us, it is a sign that we are leaving soon, but before that, most importantly, that stressing and nerve wracking DAY is approaching. Yikes!!!

So this is the flower that people in Brisbane, well at least for some of us who is a foreigner here, been waiting. JACARANDA is the name. In the picture it looks kinda light blue, but actually it is in a very light purple or close to violet. Now in Brisbane you can see this beautiful purple flower every where, by the roadside, by the river, on a field, any corner, any home, parks, playgrounds, schools, etc.

Give it a week or two, the trees will be in full bloom.

yours truly,

Wake up and smell Jasmine

Yesterday, for some reason I feel wonderful, happy, and sooo relieve. I can't explain why, can't even isolate the main reason I felt sooo happy. Too many things contributed to that, entwined. Anyway, yesterday I woke up, and after getting ready to go to the office, I went out the balcony, to take a deep breath (for it is going to be a long day) and inhaling a lovely and sweet smell of Jasmine. It was raining early in the morning, and the Jasmines were starting to bloom. Just 2 days back, I took some pictures of the buds.

There are loads of them, and the smell....soooo refreshing, in addition to the after-rain smell.

I then plucked a bunch of them, and put them into a container (the only container that I can grab), and placed them in the middle of the coffee table.

Alhamdullillah, am able to smell and to see wonderful thing created by Allah.

[a special dedication to my dearest friend Gee, for her birthday. The jasmines were blooming yesterday, to commemorate your birthday.]

It is Spring in Brisbane

Springtime in Brisbane. The flowers are blooming. And I have changed the header of this blog again. It is a picture of Semarak Api, one of the prominent flower in Spring. You may say, "Ala.... nie pun ada kat Malaysia". Could not agree less. Climate kat sini is almost like Malaysia (especially in spring), it is sort of tropical. That is why Queensland is also known as Tropical state. Current temperature is 30.9 deg, it is sunny outside.

These are recycle pictures, taken exactly one year ago. This semarak tree is at the outside of our master bedroom balcony. Actually, at this moment, tak banyak bunga keluar lagi, not like this picture.

Haaa...it is almost like this laaa now (gambar bawah).... soon akan lebat la bunga-bungaan tu macam kat gambar atas nie. Yaya with a semarak api.

Haa this is Jakaranda. Please don't ask me about the origin of the name ok (sama juga nama semarak api dalam english). Ikut aje orang2 kat sini panggil ape. Nie masa mula-mula berputik.

dan berkembang macam nie.......

Yang menariknya, bunga-bunga kat sini tak berkembang serentak. Mula-mula, Jakaranda nie akan kembang dulu, and at this time, you can see Jakaranda everywhere. Purple aje... sampai mata pun naik purple. This specific Jakaranda is at our front balcony. Lepas tu Jakaranda akan mengecut, gugur, dan rumput-rumput pun dilitupi dengan bunga-bunga Jakaranda yang gugur ini. Pemandangan pada waktu nie...sangat-sangat indah. Masa Jakaranda nie gugur, Semarak Api pulak mula berkembang. Lepas nie pulak ada satu lagi bunga, warna kuning pulak (tak tau nama dia, nanti buat research pasal bunga tu) punya giliran. Menarikkan, SubhanAllah.

Haaa selain daripada bunga-bunga nie.. ada bunga kemboja, jasmin, kesidang, n macam-macam bunga yang kite bleh jumpe kat Malaysia.
There is a Spring flower festival at Toowoomba, happen every end of September. Belum ada kesempatan gi lagi. I must go next year.
