Nak jimat, tapi kena saman...hah

As usual, Saturday is grocery day. Hari nie buat shopping simple aje... pergi coles The village, and Kmart. Lepas tu terasa nak makan pizza laa... teringat Gulshan cerita nak buat pizza macam mane, so gi la carik Lebanese bread, pizza plus cheese (all in one cheese; mozzarela, parmesan, cheddar), some tomatoes, capsicum and mushroom. Lepas tu gi valley, ismail butcher, beli salami.
Parking kat McWhiters tu first hour $5. So sebab rasa it wont take long, just under 10 minutes to get the salami, and some meat and chicken, mintak la atang tunggu aje kat mane2 available parking, P10m ke P1/2h ke....
Sekali nak jimat $5 punye pasal, kena saman $60. hah rugi $55. Atang tak perasan kat situ tak bleh parking. Bengang betul la mamat tu, I don't say anything, dah nak berlaku. Hah... Tapi terkilan jugak la... sebab nak jimat kan....

Mother's Day

Today, I have asked beloved hunny bunny to fetch me at the campus after friday prayer. Walking to the car, I saw Yaya was sitting peacefully inside the car. She would usually wave at me madly once she saw me coming. But today she looked pretty quiet. Once I am inside the car, I asked her the routine questions, "how r u today?", "what did you do at school?", "have u eaten?" and she answered, "OK!", "Main, color, draw", "Dah, habis makan, sedap"... OK so everything seems to be fined.

Then she called up, "Mama...mama.... look (at) this... I have a drawing"... Ohhh.. I did notice a blue cardboard on her lap while I was getting into the car. And now she was holding it up, and it was not a blue cardboard. Instead it is a laminated drawing. A drawing of a mother and a daughter on one side of the paper, and a Mother's day greeting on the other.

Yaya's Mother's day drawing

This is her first Mother's day drawing. Suddenly I felt warmed inside, and almost broke down. "Eh yaya lukis apa nie..."... "Lukis mama..." "You drew and colored this"..."haah laaaa"....

What a coincedence, we were discussing about showing appreciation to our mother on this mother's day, at our weekly muslim talk in the musolah, half an hour ago. On how we found it is difficult to tell our mothers that we love them. We love them, but it is hard to say it out loud, but westerners are so straight forward about this, they celebrate their mothers, they even tell their mothers that they love them. I honestly agreed on this, I love my mother very much, but I get tongue tight whenever I want to say that 3 little words (but wonderful words).

So here, my daughter presented her drawing of her and me for the mother's day celebration. It is her first gift for me...and I appreciate it so much.

To my mother and sister .... Happy Mother's day.... Thanks for all the time you spent for me... understanding me, supporting me, caring me..... I love both of you so much....

And to all mothers out there.... Happy Mother's day.... remember we make this place a better place....
