10-minute post: "Apa adik cakap" Pt.3

The winter got me again, stuffy nose, chesty cough, nose bleed, sume complete in one package. I know I know...you will probably suggest that I should lie down and rest. I wish I could, but too many things to do. What I can do is to turn in early, itupun pukul 11 malam. And try to avoid taking medicine. Ubat kat sini sume tak jalan, errrr...ok la..tapi lambat. So everytime we went home we bought bundle of cold n flu medicine. Tapi ngantuk maa... so...I only took those before going to bed at night. yes...another excuse kan...

Anyway I just swallowed 10 ml of cough syrup, after a week of coughing and just relied on my good 'nelayan' friend and honey, rasa ada bengkak sikit kat leher, and coughing out thick phlegm (padan muka), baru la terhegeh2 suruh atang belikan ubat. hahhahahah....owwwhh dah seminggu tak minum kupi, but since I am having a bad cough, I didn't missed it. Owwwhhh batuk...pergi la jauh2....

ooohhh I think the cough medicine is taking control of my brain and nerve, getting dizzy and sleepy.....

before I dozed off in front of the machine, I would like to share adik's vocabulary (and the last I have on the list, been selfish to not notice adik's new word...aiyah....)

nak ways = nak tulis
wiwi = TV
tagen = vitagen
sah sah = basah
sik sik = nasi
ikan = baik daging ke, ayam ke, ikan ke semua dia panggil ikan
nyemen = nak main
nyengkot = nak ikut
dinggam = playground
wuwie = movie

and.........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

No Coffee today

I was down for the whole day yesterday. The headache is here again. When it came nothing can stop it, the throbbing, the watery eyes and the foot will start aching. Luckily atang was not working yesterday.

When I got up today, still have a slight headache. Hope it will not get worst again today.

Aiyah...maybe I should layoff coffee for a while...errrkkk boleh ke? I will definitely feel something amiss. OK try today, 1st day without coffee.

p.s. BTW, the winner of MKR is Shadi and Veronica. Three course meals, each was cooked under an hour and for how many, I lost count. I think 12, 6 for the judges, and 6 for former competitors.

dripping like a broken tap

aiyoh...leleh pulak hidung nie... my desk is now cluttered not just with piles of papers and books but many balls of tissues. But it was not just me who are having the flu, this time I have a partner in crime, that is adik. Sape bawak virus nie?! I blamed it on yaya...ahahhaha...well partly... season is changing, we get a drastic change of weather, night is cooler, daytime is hotter. As a result, sneezes, coughing are common sight recently.

Last week was worst, with both atang and yaya fell sick because of diarrhea. And the toilet....pheeeewwwwhhhhh..... and for the first time I bought disinfected liquid, afraid of the viral infection. Then yaya catched the flu, and finally both adik and I succumbed to the virus....syooohhh syooohhhh...as I was typing this, one hand is holding a tissue while another is typing this... to be prepared of the sudden sneeze...

when I fall sick, I will get antsy, then everything will go wrong. I would rather stay in bed than putting everybody at fault...ahahahhahha....yeah I wish... a wish that will never be fulfilled.

Ooooohhhh..... tonight I will swallow 2 tablets of the panadol cold n flu (mesia mari maaa...sini ubat kurenggggg).... hopefully adik will not give trouble falling asleep.

Ok ...got to clean up this mess....

one false alarm

Athirah was not well last week. She got a high fever, the highest temperature we recorded was 39.6 deg C. I put wet cloth on her forehead to reduce the temperature. She was so cranky, I need to cuddle her almost all the time. Not that I am complaining about it, it is just that she was usually likes to play by herself and only need the cuddle when she wants to go to sleep.

Early last Friday morning, she was quite restless, I couldn't put her down for even a second. Just when I was cuddling her, I noticed red spots on her forehead and her nose. I immediately thought Athirah was catching measles. Then I looked down her neck and behind her ears. The spots were everywhere, even on her body. I didn't notice them when I bathe her. Panicking and worried, I asked atang to take us to the hospital.

We arrived at the Royal Children Hospital nearly 9am. We went straight to the emergency unit, because that is the only place that any walk-in patient should go. After filling out forms, short interview, yadayada, we waited for our turn. During this time, Athirah was active. I think she was happy to be out of the house. She bounced, laughed, making loud sound, as if she was not sick at all. Anyway her temperature was normal that morning.

We were then called by the nurse to the examining room. After a thorough check-up, the nurse said the spots were only rashes, due to a viral infection that had triggered the fever. But we were asked to wait for a doctor to confirm. About 15 minutes later, a doctor came and did another check-up, and confirm that the break out was due to her high fever. She reassured us that Athirah will not likely to get measles as she has completed her first phase of the immunisation. But the doctor still needed a second opinion, so she asked another doctor, a senior pediatrician to reconfirm. And again the senior doctor said athirah just had a viral infection. She said no medication can treat that, only gave her panadol if she feels uncomfortable and her temperature increases.

So we went home feeling relief. One false alarm it turned out to be. Alhamdullillah.

This picture was taken on Friday evening. See that red spots around her nose. Alhamdullillah those are just rashes. Gradually those spot faded and today she only has some left on her arms and legs.
