Nobody can cook better than Mak

A small feast, prepared by Mak, for her daughter, before leaving Malaysia. Note that in previous entry, I wrote about a welcoming feast in conjunction with our arrival in Malaysia without any pictures of the dishes. Haaaa.. it was fasting month at that time. But now without feeling guilty, here are some of the dishes that Mak prepared for me, towards the end of our stay in Malaysia.

Gulai ikan dengan belimbing asam.... superb.....

Ikan goreng talapia....simple but delicious....

Sambal ikan bilis with petai.... for nasi lemak....yummy..

Pajeri nenas..... with thick gravy.....mmmmhhhhmmmmmm......

and Ikan talapia sambal...this one I bought at a warung behind Giant Ampangan....

Yaya has put on weight just six weeks in Malaysia. She enjoys her Wan's cooking.... Definately

Kecur air liur ke??

Halal donut

Dah lama tak citer pasal makanan halal kat sini. Well, we have not visited any new place so far. But I have a few item to add to the "Halal food list" that I will later republish after this entry. One of the newly discover halal food is, Krispy Kreme donuts.

Yummy!!!

I was introduced with the donut by an arab research student. When I asked him is it free from any non-halal ingredients, he said, "well, he did not ask krispy kreme in australia about that. He bought the donut because it has franchise in Saudi Arabia". But then he said he will send an email to the customer centre immediately.

Later he called me and said that the manager of Krispy Kreme replied his email, and in the email the manager said that they have halal certificate for all their donuts. I have a copy of the email in my mailbox. Another halal donut to be added in the list. Alhamdullillah.

Kenal tak buah nie??? One of my fav nuts. Yes I love all sort of nuts, and this is one of them.



Besides the taste, the uniqueness of this nut lies in the way to cook it. The nut is cook with hot charcoal. I remember, back in old days, we often saw hawker selling this nut by the roadside. Nowadays I couldn't find one in Seremban.



So...anybody knows what it called?



Yes..... CHESTNUT or in Malay Buah BERANGAN ...... I bought this chestnut at JJ Seremban 2. CHESTNUT... only for dreamers...hahaahhahah.... because the name said soo laaaa.....

Tears in her eyes

A close friend of my came to visit me yesterday, to see how am I doing. It has been a long time since her last visit to our home, though I just met her a night before (she invited us for dinner), we were unable to have a heart-to-heart talk because her other guest were still around. So, I assumed, that was one of the reason she came to my house yesterday, just to know how is everything going.

In the mids of our chit chat, I saw tears building up in her eyes. Later, she could not control the emotion any longer, stood up from her chair, left me, to calm herself.

I didn't expect she would take it seriously and emotionally. I was being strong, and control myself from crying, because I dont want things to get out of hand...at least for now. I need to be strong, to concentrate on a very important matter.

I was touched by her sensitivity. I know why she felt that way, because she too like a family to me. And I sensed she also felt the same way like me.

All I can only say is, thank you for understanding my situation. It is hard enough for me. But please be strong for me, because I really need that...for now. Thanks my friend, for everything.

Yaya berwajah baru

Yaya needs a pair of glasses. The first time she wears it, she was OK for a couple of minutes, then she complaint of being unstable. When I asked her whether she felt dizzy, she asked me, "what is dizzy mak".... susah ku nak terangkan.... I have to describe it in many ways, until she said....ooooo...... But she said she is fine, but I was sure she felt dizzy. Because when we were on our way back home, she slept, almost all the way, from Bangi to BSP. And she spent the rest of the afternoon, napping. It was so unlike her to sleep in the afternoon.

Mana tak pening ye.... Her glasses prescription is 100+, plus astigmatism -250. When I started wearing glasses, the power was 50+. Itupun dah rasa pening2 lalat.

Anyway, she is used to it now. I just hope she will take care of the glasses well. Sebab lense dia sangat2 la mahal. Her glasses cost more than mine. hehehheheheh
